building tents on hermosa beach for the fourth of July with my best friends! We ended up parading around Hermosa with the Mayor, singing patriotic songs over a megaphone. Sunburnt, but the pics we left with are priceless! xo

When I was in college (Physical Therapy Assistant), I was blessed with being able to do my longest clinical (5 weeks) on South Padre Island. I was about 7 months pregnant with my youngest son and i got to take my oldest son with me. He was 6 at the time. We had the most amazing time. I was usually done at the hospital every day by 3 or so, so we got to do so much while we were there. We stayed in a timeshare condo that had a pool and was only about 3 blocks from the beach. There was a sand castle (convention thing lol)…it was the COOLEST! There was always bands playing and different things like that. But i think the best part of the whole trip was when my son and i picked up handfuls of tiny little clams. We had a TON of them. I told him to pick out about 10-15 to keep as souvenirs….well, maybe because I was pregnant (that will be my excuse!), I didn’t even give thought to the fact that they were alive and i put them in the little door pocket on my truck door and forgot about them when we got back to the house. The heat and humidity down there in July are OUTRAGEOUS, even at night. The next morning we went to get in the truck to go to my clinical and when i opened the door I seriously almost passed out! The smell from those clams (that had died overnight from the heat and no water) was the absolute WORST! It was like a bucket of fish guts had been thrown in to my truck! I tried everything to get that smell out. It took DAYS for it to air out. It was the best trip ever but I will never forget that smell! :-D

My favorite beach memory was last June in Gulf Shores, Alabama as well as Barbados within one week. I married my best friend on June 12 at The Beach Club Resort on Fort Morgan Beach and spent our honeymoon 4 days later in the beautiful country of Barbados. I could not have asked for a more perfect way to spend the greatest day of my life. What made it even more special is that we met each other 8 years earlier, when we were 13 years old, at the beach in South Padre, Texas. Lots of amazing memories! :)

My favourite beach moment was when I was in Mexico Cancun a couple of years ago & I was just sat staring out to the sea when about 40+ dolphins went jumping about in the sea it was amazing.

My favorite beach memory is my first vacation without my parents. I was 17 and went to Galveston Island with a friend and we stayed with her aunt and uncle. They worked during the day so we got to do whatever we wanted. We ate shrimp and went to the beach everyday. The best was when we thought we would try to skimboard and busted our buts right infront of some cute boys. All we could do is laugh. They appreciated our effort : )(also shared link on facebook)

My FAVORITE beach memory was in Malibu at Paradise Cove with my sister!! We rented a Cabana and had some mimosas;) we had a total photoshoot in our vintage style Bathing Suits and Red Lips, we ate at the Paradise cove Beach Café and layed out all day! Later we went to the Pepperdine fields because they were covered with American flags and we jumped out in our bathing suit and took more photos!!!! A perfect day and we ended it with a Dodgers Baseball game!!!!!

my favorite beach memory was in the Dominican Republic. My boyfriend and I walked along the beach about a half of a mile away from the resort. We came upon an old shack with a close line outside and an old man laying out huge shells and carvings. He began to tell us how and why he did this and about his family that he lives away from because he lives here and makes money for them. He sees them once a week or so. It brought tears to my eyes. There are such sweet people out there.

i went on a family trip to Peñíscola in Spain and jumped off a an enormous cliff/rock into the water. it was so high up, and insane.

I come from Sussex so visiting the beach was quite a common occurance, but I particularly remember being taken to Worthing beach by my parents to watch the birdman competition where mad people jump off the pier in weird and wonderful costumes and contraptions to see who can “fly” the furthest! Very funny to watch, such a laugh :-)

    where: watch hill, rhode island.
when: summer after high school graduation
who: friends, fam, and my middle school to high school crush.

a fun, sunny day turned into a sultry, hot summer’s night. so much carefree youthful joy – the kind that really makes you miss being young when you look back.

My favorite beach memory is when I lived in Bora Bora and I was touching the ocean water with my tiny hand and seeing little baby sharks swim up with each wave as I ran away as quick as I can. The beach is my second home and I adore everything that has to do with the beach. My mom says that I am half-mermaid since I was raised on the beach. The beach and the ocean is the only place I feel at peace and calm.

Florida when I was about 12. It was not a bright sunny day, it was kind of windy and very cloudy! BUT it was an amazing experience! Felt the sand on my feet, the endless horizon, and discovering shells! I also lost my voice from the salt from the water. Hoping to go back some day!

my favourite beach memory has to be my first beach memory too. i’d gone to margate with my mum nan and aunty and i was about 4. the day was spent making sandcastles, splashing in the sea, collecting seaweed. what makes this memory even m,ore memorable is that i can remember having to get ready to go home and i was getting changed so i was naked, i needed a wee so my mum said quick do it in the sand. at the point where i was squatting for a sneaky wee my aunt got the camera out and took a picture! It was a brilliant carefee day and i look back fondly on it. Also for added humiliation the picture was emblazoned across my 21st birthday cake, unfortunately my nman wasnt here to see it but she’d be in fits of laughter looking down on it

My favorite beach moment is living in OB, getting drunk at Tuba Mans and walking the cliffs home! Still alive by the way! :)

My favorite was when soon after I moved to Santa Monica a few years back and went to the beach in Marina del Rey and it was empty, except for me and the boyfriend. We had both gotten off work early so it was a nice way to spend the day off!(my first time in the Pacific Ocean too!).

  • Ilana Sztaimberg

I spent the summers during and after college on Cape Cod. My favorite beach memory is definitely spending all day laying on the beach with the girls then taking 3 hours to get ready before going out to listen to bands at Kendrick’s bar. Back in those days I worked specifically so I could have enough money to buy a new outfit for every Friday and Saturday night.

Favorite Beach Memories….there’s def a few!~I’ll start with my most recent fav: here’s the story~I live in the mountains of Vail, Colorado. Love the mountains! but…sometimes, you gotta get outta the mountains and to the OCEAN!!~ Winters are long up here…but usually, some awesome powder days on my snowboard make the winter wonderful!~This is my 13th ski season–& 1st one to not have a Ski Pass…I had a ventral hernia surgery (last week!)& was unable to snowboard this winter…BUT, LUCKILY, my boyfriend & I took a mid-winter MEXICO VACATION!!!!~this was EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED before my surgery / to get me thru a winter in snow w/ no ski pass ~ We went to CANCUN w/ friends for a few days, then on to Puerto Morelas w/ 2k other “friends” for an all-inclusive 4 days of fun, sun & MUSIC!! Our Favorite Band, Widespread Panic, had an event “Panic en la Playa”~I’ve been seeing this band for 23 yrs…this was their 25th anniversary tour & the Playa Trip was just truly a once-in-a-lifetime event!~Listening to my most fav band play while we danced in the ocean’s tide @ night under stars & warm tropical breezes…..HEAVEN!! so now I am at home healing and recovering from surgery…& I really really have SPRING/SUMMER FEVER! can’t wait for some FESTIVALS and LIVE MUSIC and BOOGIE TIME! My family and I make the drive from Texas to Florida every year during the summer. One long crazy week of sitting on the beach, playing games and spending time with all of the family. So all of those memories are the best. Especially since I will be graduating from college in a few years and have no idea where I will end up after, and if I will be able to continue going with them.

  • getpalmd

I have been road tripping & camping quite a lot. It is magical to wake up in a tent on a silent beach and just hear the sea in front of you… No people around, just nature. Can’t think of any other beach moment I have enjoyed that much :)
